La Suite by Dussol is not a hotel, but a Guesthouse. La Suite's credo: to offer you luxury, privacy, and absolute relaxation. Located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro's most elegant neighborhood, Joatinga, La Suite offers seven suites, with decor that is both luxurious and refined, spread over 1500m². Everything in the decor has been designed to create a disparate, yet harmonious, whole, a mix of found pieces and creations by designers such as Sergio Rodrigues or Joachim Tenreiro.

You will have a choice among different rooms, each named after a color: black, white, or even purple suites await you. Each suite has its own identity, and we particularly like the purple suite, with its English inspiration, which features a private terrace with a 180° view of the ocean. If you are looking for a more masculine room, opt for the blue room, which has the advantage of having the largest private terrace in La Suite by Dussol.

The establishment also features a lounge for relaxing and admiring the ocean, nestled within comfortable sofas that invite you to unwind. The centerpiece of the lounge is the immense black crystal chandelier from Baccarat, designed by Philippe Starck.

To make the most of your stay at La Suite by Dussol, take the time to swim a few laps or simply splash around in one of the two pools, one of which is an infinity pool.

You'll love having breakfast on the terrace facing the ocean, enjoying a menu where everything is homemade: freshly squeezed fruit juices, breads, and pastries... For lunch and dinner, La Suite also offers table d'hôtes. You'll savor delicious dishes prepared by Chef Pascal Joly, former sous-chef to Joël Robuchon. Depending on your mood for the day, you can have lunch and dinner on the terrace, in the private dining room, or on private terraces.

Upon request, you will have a car with a driver upon your arrival at the airport, as well as during your stay.

In a nutshell

  • A tasteful designer decoration.
  • Attentive service throughout your stay.
  • A sublime view of the coast.

Restoring: L'Etoile

On the 26th floor of the Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel, L'Étoile by Jean-Paul Boudoux restaurant will please even the most demanding. You won't miss the view from your hotel, as this one is also exceptional.

French chef Jean Paul Boudoux has been based in South America for several decades, and he enjoys working with local products while drawing inspiration from Brazilian dishes. An absolute must-try gem in Rio.

With the kids

La Suite by Dussol is more suited for a stay between adults or with older children. Nonetheless, the whole family will love the pools and the breathtaking view.

Inspiration

Shopping
Impossible to go back without flip-flops, a sarong, and a Brazilian swimsuit. Among the must-have brands, we find in particular Salinas, Lenny and Totem. For the most part, Chocolate Q It will be a must-do!

Out for a walk
You won't have far to go to get to Joatinga beach. This beach has the advantage of being less crowded than the big beaches of Rio, especially since it's only accessible via a small path. If you visit during the week, you'll enjoy an almost deserted beach.

Zen
The spa at the Copacabana Palace Hotel invites you to relax. You will enjoy high-end services and a wide choice of treatments and massages. The products used are from the Ayaspa brand, a brand of organic products. The hotel also features a high-end hair salon.

In the suitcase
The bare minimum: you'll find everything you need in Rio. However, be sure to protect yourself well from the sun and pack walking shoes if you plan to go exploring. If you wish to do a good deed, reach out to an organization that helps children in the favelas; they will likely tell you what to bring when you visit (school supplies, clothing, etc.).
