La Maison by Dussol, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Far, far away from the luxury establishments of Rio de Janeiro, lies La Maison by Dussol. Belonging to the same owners as The Suite, This house, unlike any other, will delight lovers of bright colors, privacy, and a warm atmosphere. Perched in the heights of Rio, this beautiful villa welcomes you into an ultra-colorful setting, with a style that blends bohemian spirit and modernism.

And because we promised you discretion, La Maison by Dussol only has 5 rooms: Récamier, Copacabana, Tiffany, Shanghai, and Ganesha. Of course, each room is unique: you travel from France to India, via the United States, China, and the unmissable Brazil. We particularly like the Copacabana room (after all, it’s local), especially for its magnificent view.

Don't expect La Maison by Dussol to offer you a palace-like stay. That's not the aim of the place and you'll undoubtedly be disappointed if you imagine staying in a luxury establishment. What we love here is the B&B spirit, the feeling of being far from everything, and the ability to overlook the city while feeling like you're staying far away from it all. By car, you're about 10 minutes from Ipanema and Leblon.

We also love the infinity pool with, once again, an absolutely perfect view. At very, very affordable prices, La Maison by Dussol has won over travelers looking for relaxation away from crowded establishments. Breakfast is prepared with seasonal products and developed with a nutritionist.

In a nutshell

  • More than a hotel, a true home with a family atmosphere.
  • Breakfast is prepared with seasonal ingredients and developed with a nutritionist.
  • A sublime view from the entire hotel.

Restoration: Prana Vegetariano

And why not change your eating habits and treat yourself to lunch at a vegetarian restaurant? Prana Vegetariano is one of the most popular restaurants in a city that has tens of thousands. You'll fill up on fruits and vegetables while discovering new flavors: typically Brazilian dishes that are sure to impress you.

Inspiration

Shopping
Once a month, you can participate in the Old Rio Fair. This highly anticipated fair transforms the entire neighborhood: you can find great deals by hunting for typical Brazilian decorations.

Out for a walk
For your first trip to Brazil, it's impossible not to visit the famous Corcovado. To see the renowned Christ the Redeemer up close and to enjoy a magnificent view of the city, opt for the train (from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily). The ticket price also includes admission to the monument.

Zen
We love the Fasano Hotel Spa. On the first floor of the hotel, expect to enjoy a moment of pure relaxation. Choose between a relaxing massage, reflexology, or a hot stone massage.

In the suitcase
Your most colorful swimsuit and for you ladies, nail polish so you don't clash when you wear your Havaianas !
