The Most Beautiful Hotels in the Luberon share the same art of taking things slowly: terraces overlooking the hills, restored country houses, and vineyards where time stretches out to the song of cicadas. Between Ventoux and the Durance, just as the lavender blooms take the place of the cherry blossoms, the region reopens its most coveted luxury destinations—from a convent transformed into a wellness sanctuary to a pale-stone house perched above the vineyards.
The Couvent des Minimes, a L’Occitane en Provence Hotel & Spa: A Divine Rebirth
One of the most beautiful hotels in the Luberon has unveiled, following a renovation carried out from 2021 to 2023, the complete transformation of this convent built in 1613, now a 5-star Relais & Châteaux property, which has taken on a contemporary style with a palette of timeless tones—white, beige, greige, and wood. The entrance through the chapel—now transformed into a lobby—is spectacular, as is the cloister with its beautiful exposed beams, a light-filled communal space that houses L’Alambic, the cocktail bar; the Galinette pool bar; and La Dame Jeanne wine tasting cellar. Elegance, comfort, and tranquility envelop the 49 rooms and suites, all with views and most with terraces, furnished with oak and natural materials.
The vast L’Occitane en Provence spa, spanning 2,500 m² and designed with a focus on combining luxury and sustainability, has become the first spa in the world to earn the ECOCERT «sustainable wellness facility» certification: an indoor swimming pool, a Nordic pool, saunas, a hammam, a salt cave, and ten treatment rooms, making it one of the most beautiful Spa Hotels in Provence.
On the culinary front, Louis Gachet—a Meilleur Ouvrier de France chef who previously worked at La Chèvre d’Or (two Michelin stars in Èze)—is behind the resort’s two restaurants: the Pamparigouste bistro, serving sunny regional cuisine, and the fine-dining restaurant Le Feuillée, awarded one Michelin star in March 2024, with a divinely pleasant terrace. The entirely homemade breakfast is well worth the visit.

La Bastide de Marie, the art of Provençal living
An intimate and welcoming 18th-century estate nestled between Ménerbes and Bonnieux, set amid the vineyards of the Domaine de Marie, the Bastide de Marie is one of the charming properties owned by the Sibuet family, whose collection (Megève, Saint-Tropez, Saint Barth…) is renowned for its hospitality, its relaxed-yet-chic atmosphere, and its tasteful decor—all paying homage to its privileged setting. Here, vineyards, olive trees, a rose garden, and lavender fields create a natural backdrop perfect for unwinding. With its distinctly rural atmosphere infused with a refined art de vivre, and its elegant, bourgeois interiors featuring antique furniture and floral fabrics, the hotel embodies the warmth of a family home, offering 12 guest rooms, including eight suites.
Lunch in the shade of the large linden tree, featuring market-fresh cuisine at La Table de la Bastide de Marie; an afternoon snack on a lounge chair in the gardens; wine tasting in the cellar or among the vineyards; and dinner under the arbor—these are the highlights of a gourmet getaway.
At the Pure Altitude spa, with its two treatment rooms, the signature treatments featuring mountain plants are infused with a Provençal spirit—from honey-and-jasmine body wraps to massages using linen pouches filled with lavender from the garden.
For more privacy, several private villas are available for rent just a stone’s throw from the main building, ranging from Villa Grenache to Mas Vermentino, which features six bedrooms, a dedicated housekeeper, and catering services included. In our opinion, this is one of the best luxury destinations in the Luberon—a place that feels more like a home than a hotel.

Domaine de Fontenille, a country estate nestled among the vineyards
At the end of a driveway lined with century-old plane trees, just a few minutes from Lourmarin, a 17th-century country estate stands amid 35 hectares of vineyards certified organic under the Luberon AOP: the Domaine de Fontenille. The first property in the Fontenille Collection, opened in 2016 and now a 5-star Relais & Châteaux estate, the estate emphasizes the French art of living rather than ostentation: a park of cedars and centuries-old plane trees, a series of interconnected living rooms opening onto the Durance Valley, a 20-meter natural stone pool, and a spa where guests can unwind in the hammam after a stroll through the vineyards. Contemporary art is everywhere: each room is adorned with at least one work by a collectible artist.
Two restaurants define the experience: *Le Champ des Lunes*, a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant that showcases the Luberon region’s local flavors, and *La Cuisine d’Amélie*, a sunny bistronomic spot that draws its ingredients from the on-site permaculture garden. Here, you can tour the gravity-fed wine cellar, taste the estate’s wines in the shade of an oak tree, and go for a walk among the vineyards at daybreak. A lived-in wine estate where you sleep in an art gallery and dine with a view of the hills.

Hôtel Crillon le Brave, Balcony over Provence
We have a special fondness for this village-hotel nestled in the foothills of Mont Ventoux, 40 kilometers from Avignon, in the medieval hamlet of the same name. Part of the Maisons Pariente collection, Crillon le Brave has all the makings of a timeless hideaway: a dozen 17th- and 18th-century houses built of pale stone, connected by cobblestone alleys and vaulted passageways, where guests happily lose their way between two panoramic terraces. The interior design by Charles Zana blends antique red terracotta tiles with linen and light hues. Following its reopening in April 2026, the hotel features 43 guest rooms—26 standard rooms and 17 suites—and has added nine more rooms, a second swimming pool, a dedicated space for culinary workshops and wellness retreats, and a spa whose floor area has doubled.
In the dining room, Chef Thomas Lesage runs La Table du Ventoux, the restaurant around which the hotel’s daily life revolves: Provençal ingredients, perfectly executed dishes, and a breathtaking view of the vineyards and the Giant of Provence.
The Spa des Écuries, meanwhile, is housed in the arches of the former 18th-century stables, featuring a hammam, sauna, cold baths, and Tata Harper treatments. Both pools overlook the valley, and you can head over to hit a few balls on the nearby paddle tennis and tennis courts. Come evening, enjoy a pastis at the bar by the fireplace while watching Mont Ventoux turn pink.
