The Most Beautiful Hotels in Provence
June 19, 2026 Audrey

Amid the scents of olive trees and lavender, the southern sunlight, and the vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see, these charming hotels promise a sophisticated getaway, where every room, every meal, and every view captures the essence of Provence.

Hôtel & Spa du Castellet

Located 430 meters up in the Var hills, between Provence and the French Riviera, the Hôtel & Spa du Castellet originally housed drivers from the nearby Paul Ricard circuit before becoming a 5-star Relais & Châteaux property, awarded three Michelin keys. Set within a 12-hectare park dotted with umbrella pines, the buildings—with their Tuscan-inspired ochre facades—house 46 rooms and suites, all opening onto a terrace, including the 150 m² Suite Exception.

The restaurant holds three Michelin stars: at La Table du Castellet, Fabien Ferré serves Mediterranean cuisine featuring ingredients from local producers, while the San Felice bistro specializes in charcoal-grilled meats and fish. The spa offers 700 m² of sensory space, complemented by an outdoor infinity pool and a heated indoor pool. Outside, a Swing Center golf course, a tennis court, and a pétanque court offer plenty to do, just a few meters from a racetrack where guests can get behind the wheel.

Marie's Country House

In Ménerbes, an avenue lined with cypress trees and century-old olive trees leads to La Bastide de Marie, a former 18th-century country farmhouse that the Sibuet family has set amidst 30 hectares of vineyards at the Domaine de Marie, right in the heart of the Luberon Regional Nature Park. The rooms (ranging from 25 to 270 m²) are not numbered; each bears a color name—from Mauve d’Aster to Vert Tilleul—which is reflected in the walls, floors, and linens.

At the table, the cuisine draws on the property’s permaculture vegetable garden, beehives, and olive trees, all washed down with house wines. The Pure Altitude Spa offers treatments featuring plants and aromatherapy: a honey and jasmine body wrap, and a massage with linen pouches filled with lavender from the garden. Two swimming pools dot the vineyards, where guests can cool off during siesta time. Undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Provence.

The Couvent des Minimes, an L'Occitane en Provence Hotel & Spa

Built in 1613 for the study of plants, the monastery that gives the establishment its name is located near the village of Mane, between Forcalquier and Manosque. A renovation carried out from 2021 to 2023 transformed it into the Hôtel & Spa L’Occitane, a 5-star Relais & Châteaux property, which has retained the simple lines of its monastic architecture. Its 49 rooms and suites feature natural materials—oak, linen, sandstone, and wicker—in a palette of beige, brown, and olive green that harmonizes with the gardens and lavender fields.

When it comes to dining, Le Feuillée boasts a Michelin star: Chef Louis Gachet, named «Meilleur Ouvrier de France» in 2023, creates a culinary dialogue between Provence and his native Burgundy; the Pamparigouste bistro and the bars L’Alambic and Galinette offer a more relaxed atmosphere. The L’Occitane Spa spans over 2,500 m² and was the first in the world to earn the Ecocert “Sustainable Wellness Facility” certification. Beyond that, an outdoor pool, yoga sessions, and the trails of the Lure mountain extend your stay, whether on foot or by mountain bike.

Crillon le Brave Hotel

At the top of the village of Crillon-le-Brave, in the Vaucluse, about ten 17th- and 18th-century houses, covered in Virginia creeper and connected by narrow streets and stone passageways, form an open-air hotel facing Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. This 5-star property, part of the Maisons Pariente collection, entrusted its interior design to Charles Zana: antique red terracotta tiles, linen throughout, and muted tones lend warmth to each uniquely shaped space.

La Table du Ventoux follows the seasons under the guidance of Chef Thomas Lesage, who draws inspiration from the Provençal terroir to create dishes meant for sharing, served on the terrace with the Ventoux as a backdrop. The Spa des Écuries is housed in the former 18th-century vaulted stables, beneath arches of pale stone, and features a hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, and cold baths by Tata Harper. Upon its reopening in April 2026, the hotel added nine rooms, a second pool, and a space dedicated to culinary workshops and wellness retreats, while doubling the size of its spa. The two turquoise pools, suspended above the valley, remain.

Villa La Coste

Nestled in the heart of the Domaine de Château La Coste, between Aix-en-Provence and the Luberon Natural Park, this 5-star hotel is set amid 200 hectares of organic vineyards, dotted with works of contemporary art. This is one of the hallmarks of this luxury hotel, recognized in 2019: integrating culture with the Provençal landscape, while designing a hotel that harmonizes with its surroundings. Villa La Coste showcases local materials, as evidenced by the stone pathways connecting the various spaces. The older sister property to Auberge La Coste, which opened in late 2024, the hotel features 31 spacious suites, 10 of which have private pools. Contrasting with the authentic charm of southern architecture, the design is modern, minimalist, and graphic, with large floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of light. The outdoor pool is surrounded by serene cypress trees, and the spa invites guests on a sensory journey through natural colors, the scents of essential oils, and natural salts. Yoga studios, a fitness center, and meditation activities are also available. The cuisine at Louison restaurant, led by Chef Florent Pietravalle, centers on local ingredients, which guests can enjoy in the lounges, gardens, or the main dining room that opens onto the outdoors. Villa La Coste is one of the the most beautiful hotels in Provence.

Estate of the Andéols

In Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, in the heart of the Luberon, the Domaine des Andéols spans 32 hectares of rolling hills planted with olive trees, lavender, and winding paths. Designed as a contemporary hamlet blending seamlessly into the landscape, it features 19 accommodations, including 8 Nature Suites and 11 standalone cottages, each one unique. Inside, the spaces open wide onto nature: floor-to-ceiling windows, private terraces, works of art, books, and carefully selected objects come together to create a lively, personal, and ever-changing atmosphere. Dining takes center stage: under the guidance of Executive Chef Vincenzo Regine, the cuisine celebrates the seasons and the resort’s own vegetable garden, served at La Loggia with a gourmet twist or under the century-old plane tree for a more bistronomic experience. The outdoor pool, surrounded by greenery and stone walls, the wellness area, walks through the estate, and yoga or tennis lessons invite guests to fully enjoy this unique Mediterranean setting.

The Hotel Capelongue Beaumier is spread out across an estate designed to resemble a contemporary Provençal hamlet, on the plateau of the Claparèdes in Bonnieux. The 5-star hotel features 57 rooms and suites, some of which are housed in former dovecotes, with terraces or balconies offering panoramic views of the Luberon and the surrounding hills. Culinary excellence is provided by Chef Noël Bérard at the Michelin-starred restaurant La Bastide, where he boldly combines celery, black truffles, and a vegetable blanquette sauce, or even chocolate and olives. Chef Mathieu Guivarch oversees La Bergerie and the Café Capelongue, offering lighter meals and homemade snacks. The spa combines stone, light wood, and terracotta tiles, featuring a hammam, Roman bath, jacuzzi, and Biologique Recherche treatments. Outside, a panoramic main pool and a more intimate pool, bordered by olive trees and lavender, are nestled among terraces and walking paths.
