London is one of those European capitals where the selection of hotels is so vast that choosing one is practically a challenge. Among the must-see options are, of course, the sublime Firmdale hotels, such as the Covent Garden or the Soho Hotel. However, while it’s always tempting to stay there, the service doesn’t necessarily live up to the nightly rate. That’s why Travellers Society tested the Langham London, one of the legendary hotels in the English capital.

The building, dating from 1865, makes a grand impression the moment you arrive. A spacious lobby, with friendly and efficient staff. At the front desk, if you’ve booked an Executive Room or one of the suites, you’ll be escorted immediately to the 3rd floor.e floor, where the Club awaits you.

Exclusively for guests who have chosen this room category, it’s a peaceful haven where you can enjoy a snack, breakfast, a light dinner, or get some work done. Everything is complimentary—from drinks and meals to concierge services. If you have access to the Club, here’s a tip:, Make this your go-to spot for breakfast : You'll be pampered, and if there's something not listed, just ask!

The Langham London has three restaurants and a bar. The Palm Court offers a breakfast buffet, while Le Landau serves a continental breakfast. The Wigmore restaurant, with its pub-style cuisine, is very popular in London.

Take a break: Your hotel has a beautiful, large pool that’s open to children during specific (but ample) time slots. The gym is equipped with state-of-the-art machines, and you can, of course, take advantage of the services of a personal trainer. The spa offers an appealing menu of treatments, and the staff there are efficient, qualified, and always cheerful.

In a nutshell

  • The Club completely transforms your stay
  • Restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and attentive service
  • A perfect place for relaxation and exercise, ideal for both families and business travelers.

Inspiration

Shopping
You're just a stone's throw (literally) from Oxford Street. So you can do all your shopping without having to deal with London traffic. Just a few minutes' walk and you're at Liberty!

Out for a walk
Without having to take public transportation, you can head to Oxford Circus, stroll down Carnaby Street, or explore the lively neighborhood of Soho.

Zen
The Langham London Spa offers an extensive menu of treatments. We tried the treatment that combines a dry exfoliation with a massage using neroli-scented oil. It was a moment of pure bliss, performed with professionalism, and the young woman was absolutely lovely.

In the suitcase
Go for color and break out your most extravagant outfits. London dares to do it all, everywhere. Your Stella McCartney dress is the perfect fit for the setting.
