The best luxury hotels in Paris's 1st arrondissement
June 13, 2022 Camille

When talking about Paris 1, the images that likely come to mind are the Louvre, Place Vendôme, and the Tuileries – these places and monuments that make the city magical and timeless. And who hasn't dreamed of staying at their doorstep, in the very heart of the City of Light? The editorial team has selected the best luxury hotels in the 1st arrondissement of Paris for you to immerse yourselves for a few days in a postcard-perfect setting.

The Grand Hôtel du Palais-Royal

Ideally located just a stone's throw from the Louvre Museum, Le Grand Hôtel du Palais-Royal will charm you at first sight with its historic "Grand Siècle" façade, listed as a historical monument. We love this Hotel in Paris Center. The 68 rooms and suites, decorated in light colors, will continue to amaze you with their brightness and tranquility, despite their prime location right in the heart of Parisian bustle. Don't miss out on enjoying the dining areas of the 5-star hotel, to have a drink in the small dedicated alcoves, or to enjoy the organic, seasonal dishes at Café 52 in a private atmosphere.

The must-have? The breathtaking view of the Palais-Royal gardens from the rooms.

2. Le Maurice

Follow the steps of people from all over the world and treat yourself to a night at Hôtel Meurice, the oldest Parisian Palace hotel and certainly one of the most fashionable hotels in the capital. Facing the Tuileries Garden, it is the epitome of serene elegance, enhanced by its sumptuous decor redesigned by Philippe Starck and its hushed atmosphere. But people don't just come to Meurice to sleep. Its two-Michelin-starred restaurant is a destination in itself for fine gourmets. Take advantage of your stay to have dinner there and continue your evening at Bar 228, the perfect place to sip a signature cocktail to the sound of the piano.

The must-have? The Belle Étoile suite, located on the top floor of the hotel and boasting an incredible terrace of over 250 m2, with a 360° view of all of Paris.

Maison Albar Hotels Le Pont-Neuf

If location is your top selection criterion, don't hesitate any longer and pack your bags for Maison Albar du Pont-Neuf. You'll be lodged just a few minutes' walk from Les Halles, in an elegantly decorated Haussmannian building that looks like a private mansion. If its availability allows, we recommend booking the suite. Rooftop, the largest room in the establishment, offering a 180° view of the capital. Also consider booking a treatment at the spa by Cinq Mondes, before dining at the Odette restaurant, which offers refined and flavorful cuisine, respectful of the seasons. One of our Hotels Spa Paris that we prefer.

The must-have? The pool and its jacuzzi, naturally lit by a skylight.

4. The Ritz Paris

More than just a hotel, the Ritz has become an icon of Place Vendôme. Its suites, frequented by the greatest since the establishment's creation in 1898, bear the names of famous regulars: Coco Chanel, Scott Fitzgerald, or Marcel Proust; not to mention its unmissable Bar Hemingway, where you can enjoy top-tier signature cocktails. Staying here is stepping into a timeless interlude that will be difficult to forget. For the Ritz has lost none of its legendary elegance and continues to make us dream with its sumptuous decor, its unparalleled sense of service, its delicious restaurants, and its luxurious spa. In short, a Grand Parisian Hotel !

The must-have? The French-style tea time by pastry chef François Perret, served between the library and the fireplace in the Salon Proust.

5. Hotel Costes Castiglione

It is the place to be Since 1995, it's still run by all the trendsetters in the capital, and beyond. Buoyed by its success, Hôtel Costes has continued to grow and now brings together three hotels under one roof, just steps from Place Vendôme. Our favorite: the most recent, Le Castiglione, which is hidden behind a massive wooden porch. From the minimalist lobby to the 35 ultra-design suites, it's undeniably the symbol of Parisian chic.

The must-have? The restaurant and bar of the adjoining hotel, Costes Saint-Honoré, which consists of a series of plush lounges overlooking a very chic Italian-style patio.

6. Le Burgundy Paris

Like a museum, The Burgundy is adorned with dozens of works of art – such as the monumental fresco by Marco Del Re gracing the ceiling of the Charles bar, and the sublime sculptures by Guy de Rougemont displayed in the lobby. But the charm doesn't stop there and continues to work its magic in the rooms, elegantly decorated with rich fabrics in light tones. The hotel's 8 signature suites, each with its own unique universe, offer a private terrace, ideal for enjoying breakfast and admiring the sunset at the end of the day. Be sure to book a table at the restaurant Le Baudelaire, which has held a Michelin star since 2011 and whose cuisine will delight your taste buds.

The must-have? The Sothys spa, which offers you the option of dual treatments, to cap off a romantic weekend.

7. The Mandarin Oriental Paris

Opened in 2011 on Rue Saint-Honoré, this resolutely contemporary Palace boasts 135 luxurious rooms and suites, among the most spacious in Paris. Its majestic lobby, where 135 Swarovski crystal butterflies shimmer, recalling the number of rooms, opens onto a large, wooded interior garden, perfect for enjoying a drink in the summer. The three restaurants, overseen by Chef Thierry Marx, including the famous two-star Sur Mesure, will guarantee you a delightful stay. Not to mention the magnificent 900 m2 spa, where high-quality treatments await you.

The must-have? The Parisian Apartment suite, which spans 430 square meters on the 6th floor of the Palace.

8. Le Roch Hotel & Spa

Designed by Sarah Lavoine, this 37-room boutique hotel will immediately immerse you in a warm atmosphere that nonetheless retains a very Parisian elegance. Colors and materials are subtly combined – pistachio green with brown, and marble with walnut parquet flooring – transforming tasteful furniture into true assets. The fireplace and libraries that preside in the common areas set the tone, not to mention the terrace resembling a hanging garden, where you can enjoy a timeless moment tête-à-tête with your cup of tea.

The must-have? The spa offering Codage treatments and its volcanic stone pool.
