On a first trip to Lisbon, nothing beats a place located far from the tourist hustle and bustle. A place steeped in history, a «landmark» as they say in English. And so it is at Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon that we've settled in. Curious, without any particular expectations, but with a desire to be surprised and pampered.

Once past the majestic entrance of the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, the welcome lives up to expectations. As for the children, they are the focus of all attention. Step into the living room and admire: the Centaur trilogy by José Sobral de Almada Negreiros should delight art lovers and all lovers of beautiful things.

Then, head to your room: starting with the Deluxe room, the spaces are impressive, as with most of the Four Seasons we tested. The focus is on elegant, understated comfort and amenities. A welcome tray awaits you, with special attention for your little ones.

When booking, please specify that you would like a room/suite on a higher floor for a very beautiful view of Lisbon. And once your bags are unpacked, head to the Superb heated indoor pool (although a little cool). If you have the good fortune to avoid school holidays, you should be able to enjoy a moment of serenity, with a relaxing view of the gardens.

The spa will allow you to recharge your batteries after long walks in the heart of a particularly steep city. And if you still have energy, the incredible race track awaits you on the roof: a sublime panorama guaranteed.

The restoration of Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon is clearly one of the establishment's strong points. We appreciated the quality of the dishes at Varanda Restaurant (as well as the service), but also the incredible breakfast buffet.

Do you have a craving? Simply ask or browse through countless international offerings.

In a nutshell

  • Spacious rooms and services designed for families.
  • A very large indoor swimming pool.
  • Attentive staff throughout your stay.

Restaurant Balcony

Highly sought after for its weekend brunch, the Varanda Restaurant will likely welcome you in the evening for a particularly delicious moment of relaxation. Chef Pascal Meynard grew up in the Basque Country, but his profession has taken him from Tasmania to Canada.

Her cooking is inspired, colorful, and exciting. Among the signature dishes are the Algarve octopus confit, crispy vegetables with green shiso, lemon jelly, and Espelette pepper.

With the kids

Our experience allows us to say with certainty that the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon presents itself as the ideal address for a family stay. The children are pampered and are kings: gifts, appropriate equipment, a large indoor pool, and meals on demand are on the program.

Let's bet that, regardless of their age, they will also take great pleasure in choosing from the many breakfast options.

Inspiration

Shopping
Lisbon is teeming with souvenir shops. Among the must-visit boutiques, don't miss Silva and Feijoo. The brand has been around since 1919 and you'll find absolutely unique items there.

Out for a walk
For a first discovery of Lisbon, the must-see visit remains the Château Saint Georges. Plan for good walking shoes (it's surprising to see tourists struggling to walk in high heels...) and sun protection in the summer.

The tour will allow you to follow the ramparts and admire the view absolutely stunning on the rooftops of the city.

Zen
The spa of the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon Represents a perfect cocoon of softness to relax your muscles aching from the climbs and descents encountered during your visits.

Among the signature treatments, «The Seven Hills of Lisbon» is sure to delight you: a treatment specially designed to relax your tired legs.

The spa reception is Professional and smiling, with genuine listening to your desires and a lot of kindness.

In the suitcase

Undeniably two pairs of hiking boots.
