In the heart of the Indian Ocean, Mauritius offers the perfect combination: luxury and relaxation under an ever-shining sun. Add to that some of the most exquisite spas on the planet, and the escape becomes complete. These spa hotels in Mauritius are our favorites.
La Maison 20 Degrés Sud
Maison 20 Degrés Sud is the island’s only Relais & Châteaux property. This 5-star hotel in Mauritius is set in a former coconut grove in Pointe Malartic, between Grand Baie and Pointe aux Canonniers. Reserved for adults, it has made tranquility and serenity its hallmarks, in an atmosphere that blends colonial refinement with a tropical spirit.
Its 36 rooms and suites, all uniquely decorated by the Belgian firm Flamant, are highlighted by the Secret Suite: spread over two levels, it features a private living room opening onto a terrace with a pool, and upstairs, a bedroom with a balcony and a bathroom equipped with a whirlpool tub. When it comes to dining, the gourmet restaurant Atlas is situated next to a wine cellar and a chef’s table helmed by Sanjeev Purahoo. But the most memorable experience is dinner aboard the M/S Lady Lisbeth, the island’s oldest motorboat, for a gourmet cruise under the stars of Grand Baie. Two pools, two bars, and Mini Moke excursions round out the experience.
However, it is at the Secret Spa that the hotel truly showcases its art of letting go. Treatments by Germaine de Capuccini and Infusion Cosmetics are offered in one of the three treatment rooms—including a double room for couples’ massages—before guests can continue their relaxation in the hammam, sauna, and pool. A fitness center, yoga classes, and stretching sessions await the more active guests. For those seeking a 5-star hotel in Mauritius Where privacy takes precedence over ostentation—it's hard to find anything better.

Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort
A gem among gems, this spa hotel in Mauritius. Nestled in the heart of the Bel Ombre sanctuary in the island’s enchanting south stands this jewel of a 5-star hotel in Mauritius. Its name pays homage to the Irish naturalist Charles Telfair, a resident of this area in the 19th century, who left an indelible mark on the estate. Enough about history—let’s move on to the tour. Whether garden- or ocean-facing, the 158 suites are discreetly distributed among a collection of pavilions featuring typical colonial architecture. The white wooden architecture blends beautifully with the lush vegetation. Bougainvilleas cascade along the facades, and vibrantly colored hibiscus flowers are everywhere. One can’t help but think that the Garden of Eden must have looked like this living tableau. Further on, the pool—a liquid mirror facing the lagoon—invites you to relax, while the sumptuous Heritage Spa & Wellness and the two exceptional courses, among the best Golf Courses in Mauritius, round out the picture. The dining options (13 restaurants on the resort) range from Creole flavors—including curries and spicy rougaille—to finger foods enjoyed with your feet in the sand. When are we leaving?

Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort
«Awali» means «in the beginning» in Swahili, and Africa sets the tone here. Located on the Bel Ombre estate within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this luxury hotel on the south coast stretches along a kilometer of beach. Voted the best 5-star all-inclusive resort in Mauritius by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards in 2023, it takes the all-inclusive concept to the next level: unlimited access to the spa, a complimentary massage after five nights, and—in the Premium package—champagne by the glass and dinner at the Château de Bel Ombre, a 19th-century plantation house.
Its 160 guest rooms range from the 52-square-meter Deluxe Room to the 310-square-meter Ulundi Villa, located right on the waterfront with a private pool, as well as five 100-square-meter suites with a jacuzzi. When it comes to dining, the Savana features a wine tasting cellar, while the Infinity Blue overlooks the ocean. The highlight? Evenings at the Boma, featuring an African barbecue accompanied by the sound of djembes.
Renovated in 2025, the Heritage Wellness & Spa spans 3,000 m²: 12 treatment rooms, two outdoor pavilions with a jacuzzi, steam rooms, a sauna, a vitality pool, and a Vichy shower. Guests come here for Thalion facials, the African rungu massage, or the Secret Garden Serenity couples’ ritual. Golfers head to Le Château (18 holes, par 72) or La Réserve Golf Links, the Indian Ocean’s first contemporary links course, co-designed by Louis Oosthuizen. Golf first thing in the morning, spa in the afternoon, dinner by the fire: in Mauritius, the all-inclusive package finds one of its most refined forms here.

Paul & Virginie Veranda
Head northeast to Grand Gaube, a fishing village long known for its wooden canoes, whose colorful sails still enliven the regattas. Named after Bernardin de Saint-Pierre’s novel and reserved for adults, this 4-star boutique hotel overlooks the lagoon, and its 81 rooms, decorated in light wood and shades of orange, all offer views of the lagoon—from the 32 m² Comfort rooms to the 42 m² Privilege rooms, each equipped with a pillow menu and an espresso machine. L’Isle de France, which overlooks the pool, serves Mauritian cuisine, but in the evening, guests head to Saint Géran—at the end of a pier under a thatched roof—for smoked marlin carpaccio or grilled lobster. The menu even highlights dishes recommended by the spa. Speaking of treatments, Seven Colours—a 100% Mauritian brand—focuses on locally made products using natural ingredients: chakra assessment, «Source of Life» massage featuring seven techniques, the Volupté des Mers ritual by Thalion, and an affusion shower for body treatments. Then there are the morning stretches under the banyan tree, the catamaran ride to Bernaches Islet through the mangroves, and, as the sun sets over the Northern Islands, a trip in a traditional pirogue.

Constance Prince Maurice
This iconic resort on the northeast coast is situated on 60 hectares of private, completely unspoiled land, sheltered from the wind and surrounded by pristine nature. Privacy is guaranteed. On the ocean side, the luxury hotel is bordered by a lagoon with crystal-clear waters, and on its western side, by a marine nature reserve home to a floating restaurant that’s highly sought-after at sunset—as it’s the only one of its kind on the island. Topped with thatched roofs, the suites and private villas—some of which are built on stilts, while others feature their own heated private pools and direct access to the sea — offer a full range of 5-star amenities, with special attention paid to the warm, exotic decor. At the Constance Prince Maurice, ...the restaurants and bars do not disappoint; the cuisine is exactly what you’d expect from an establishment of this caliber—that is, excellent. But the ultimate highlight is its prestigious wine cellar (which is open to visitors). With its 25,000 bottles from vineyards around the world, it is quite simply the largest in the Indian Ocean. As for the spa, the offerings are impressive, featuring seven treatment rooms—including two for couples—a thermal pool with lounge chairs, a sauna, a steam room, an ice bath, and a hair salon. Massages, facials, and body treatments are performed using natural products inspired by plants from the Indian Ocean or featuring the Sisley skincare line.
