Hi, Laetitia, can you tell us about monfichu?
Monfichu is first and foremost a brand of elegant accessories, with its flagship product being the iconic fichu, which is a cross between a hat and a scarf.
How and when did you come up with the idea to create your brand?
As fashion enthusiasts, the idea of creating a brand came very naturally to us two years ago. The initial project focused on designing and manufacturing a women’s clothing line inspired by traditional Moroccan colors and outfits. Each piece was to be made near Marrakech in a women’s cooperative that brought together various skills such as embroidery, trimmings, and sewing… and then monfichu came along, and another adventure took shape!

What makes Haute Couture scarves unique?
The These Haute Couture scarves are made from fine fabrics used by the leading fashion houses. Each model is crafted in our workshop in Paris’s 10th arrondissement. The monfichu label is hand-sewn with gold thread at each end. A beautiful hat box serves as its sheath.

Does a scarf go with everything? Does it match every style?
A big Yes! I can't say otherwise 😉
Whether you're dressed casually or formally, it will add a touch of style—our style. A scarf is an accessory we wear and play with. What’s more, there are so many of them that we can choose one to match our mood at any given moment.
How do we take him on a trip?
First of all, put it at the top of your travel bag so you don't forget it, or put it on your head.
It folds up like a scarf, so it takes up very little space and, unlike a hat, isn't likely to get damaged.

What are your development plans?
May the scarf take its rightful place among fashion accessories and fill our closets. May it be more than just a trend; rather, may it embody feminine elegance. We aim to expand our global market presence, as it adapts to all cultures and lifestyles—and thus to everyone.
A scarf in the suitcase—destination … ?
Always carry a scarf with you, no matter where you're going. Just take the local temperature into account. Choose thick scarves made of wool or silk for cold weather, and thin or openwork cotton scarves for sunny destinations.

Finally, as a fashion designer, which hotel do you think has everything it takes to make for a perfect stay?
For a perfect vacation, I shouldn’t have to leave the hotel if I don’t feel like it. To make that happen, I need to find all the comforts and services I’m looking for and expect right there on the premises. There’s a place I absolutely love—I often call it «my little Maldives«—and that is the Hôtel Royal Thalasso Barrière in La Baule.
The house is magnificent, overlooking the ocean, and I feel recharged here like nowhere else.
