JR : For you, traveling is synonymous with...?
To enrich oneself humanly. All my travels have taught me so much, allowed me to discover new cultures, but also to make beautiful encounters.
JR : What is the first item you put in your suitcase? Why?
Without any hesitation, my camera to capture the big moments! Then, I like to share them on my We Love New York blog, with my loved ones, or simply look at them to remember the good times.
JR : When you travel in dreams, where do you go?
In New York, the city that thrills me more than any other in the world. It's strange, but New York gives me a great energy that pushes me to surpass myself to achieve my dreams.
JR : Your worst travel memory?
Unfortunately, in Marrakech, Morocco. A local took advantage of our kindness to send us in the wrong direction. In the end, this gentleman wanted to take us into a local cooperative. He wanted us to buy artisanal objects, we refused and he insulted us in his language. What a shame!
JR : A perfume that invites you to escape?
Lavender reminds me of the South of France. I love Bandol in the Var region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. I used to go there every summer.
JR : What is your next destination?
The American West for the second time, I really can't wait! I've already been there, but there's so much to discover in the United States. One lifetime wouldn't be enough.
JR : What is your favorite hotel? For what reasons?
My most beautiful experience was a few months ago at the Andaz Tokyo, an exceptional hotel that transports you to the other side of the world a second time and brings you absolute serenity. Everything was perfect: the customer service, the furniture materials, the decor, the lighting… Fabulous!
JR : What do you do to pass the time on a plane?
I watch the movies offered on the individual screens and I sleep 🙂. In the end, I have a lot of trouble reading on the plane, so I almost never buy magazines anymore. I must watch a lot more movies on the plane than on TV the rest of the year.
JR : What is your best travel memory from when you were a child?
It was when I was eagerly looking forward to leaving for Guadeloupe, my island, for the first time. My parents were born there and stayed until the end of their teenage years.
They had saved a considerable amount for this trip; at the time, it was extremely expensive. And it was also the first time I had ever flown. My passion for travel started there.
JR : You feel at home when you are...?
In Guadeloupe, of course, but also in New York, my second home, the city dear to my heart.
