Romantic weekend in Avignon at La Mirande

Housed in a former 14th-century cardinal's residence, enhanced by a 17th-century baroque facade, and a dwelling for a notable family for decades, La Mirande, has become since its acquisition by the Stein family in 1987 one of the Hotels in Avignon emblematic of the City of Popes… The 26 rooms and suites of this five-star hotel confidently display the codes of the 18th century: wood paneling, chandeliers, furniture, paintings, and antique carpets, in short, the ideal setting for a romantic getaway tinged with great luxury and history… We love the Chinese lounge with its walls covered in 18th-century wallpaper, «the place to be» for a special moment while sipping tea or a cocktail… As for chef Florent Pietravalle, he delights us with his starred, eco-responsible cuisine: in 2021, he won the Green Star, a new Michelin distinction.

Castigno Wine Hotel & Resort for a romantic weekend in the south

This unusual hotel occupies some of the houses in a village within the Saint Chinian appellation. Marc and Tine Verstraete, its owners, have bought twelve houses over the years. The result: 24 rooms and suites, three restaurants, a bar, and a spa, scattered throughout different houses in the village, hence the name «spread-out hotel.» This five-star establishment, a member of Les Collectionneurs, promotes digital detox: televisions and WiFi are banned from the rooms, making it ideal for a rejuvenating couples' getaway.
