The family home
A Retaise house, of course, away from the hustle and bustle of the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. U Capu Biancu, in Corsica
Go underground
The scent of myrtle overlooking the Gulf of Santa Manza and this estate, 20 minutes from Bonifacio, a little bohemian, very unique. Each room is unique, blending local stone and leather, wood and copper, adorned with marine colors, strong hues, or reveling in virginal white. So choose the Marina suite with its terracotta tones, if only for its private, heated pool. Of the three beaches, choose the most secret, deliciously preserved for an almost spontaneous picnic. A visit to the spa for a couples massage with scents of the maquis. The sweet melody of polyphony drifts from the bar, ideal for sipping a Pina Castana at sunset. Castello di Reschio in Umbria
Glamorous and enchanting
Here is a place as magical as it is exceptional, hidden away in Umbria, bordering Tuscany. 1500 hectares of exclusivity and this 11th-century castle.e admired century, beautifully arranged over the years by Count Benedikt Bolza and his wife, Donna Nencia Corsini. Beamed ceilings, whitewashed walls, a charming jewel box for the carefully considered, obviously unique decor of the 36 rooms: portraits of former lords and ladies of the manor and furniture mellowed by time mingle with contemporary design, with Art Deco accents, and a soothing sobriety. There is glamour too, in the common areas. Iron columns and a high glass roof, velvet on the sofas and graceful palm trees, a Steinway piano, and a stone floor: one happily lingers at the Palm Court bar: a Negroni, please! Just before savoring the organic cuisine at one of the two restaurants that sing of Italy. We dine on the terrace, to feast our eyes on the hills and fields stretching out endlessly. Tomorrow, we will go by bicycle to discover vineyards and olive groves, participate in an ethnobotanical walk, or try our hand at dressage: the estate has its own stud farm. And then we will slip into the real Roman bath of the spa nestled in the old wine cellar, simply divine.
