If you are looking for an extraordinary place, out of time, out of the ordinary and far from the hustle and bustle of the world, you will undoubtedly appreciate the Post Ranch Inn. In Big Sur, on the west coast of the United States, between San Francisco and Los Angeles, this incredible place welcomes you facing the Pacific Ocean, offering you a breathtaking view.

At Post Ranch Inn, absolute peace and relaxation are not just empty words. Therefore, children are not allowed and there are no televisions in the rooms. On the other hand, you will delightfully enjoy a sublime ocean view, green spaces abundant with squirrels, rabbits, and birds of all kinds, and infinity pools where, facing the Pacific, you can savor a glass of champagne while lounging. Your car will stay at the bottom of the estate, because here, everything is done by Lexus or on foot, so as not to disturb the serenity of the place.

The rooms at the Post Ranch Inn are designed like small villas spread throughout the property, facing the ocean or nestled in the forest. The 39 rooms are comfortable, welcoming, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. They also feature a completely complimentary minibar, which is restocked daily with a variety of treats.

The ocean-facing terraces are sublime observation posts, summer and winter, for an unforgettable sunset. The hotel also offers two villas that can accommodate up to four people. In winter, the fireplace will be an integral part of your comfort, and you will appreciate having the necessary wood for your evening fire delivered daily.

The Post Ranch Inn will make you want to do absolutely nothing, but if you still wish to leave the idyllic setting of your room, you can visit the spa nestled amidst the trees, go for a walk (having taken care to order your picnic), or explore the library.

In a nutshell

  • The Post Ranch Inn offers you an incredible stay overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
  • Children are not allowed.
  • One of the best places in the world to watch the sunset.

To revitalise: The Sierra Mar

The Sierra Mar is the restaurant of the Post Ranch Inn, but it is also possible to come for lunch or dinner without staying at the hotel. Reservations are highly recommended. If you appreciate refined, creative cuisine that follows the rhythm of the seasons, you will love this establishment. Facing the ocean, your dinner will be punctuated by a sublime sunset. The Sierra Mar menu changes constantly, but it always includes vegetarian options. The dishes are beautifully presented and seasonal vegetables and products are always prioritized. Sierra Mar has an impressive wine cellar with wines from around the world.

With the kids

It's impossible to book at Post Ranch Inn with children. We'll have to wait until they're older or come back as a couple. This is a positive for some, but a real drawback when you want to share this moment with family.
