Perhaps a little more intimidated, in the adjacent café-studio: On trestles, a huge plateau with this beautiful open book, as if forgotten. The shelves scatter paintings and sculptures, and a fresco offers all its poetry to the ceiling. 6 floors, for only 20 rooms, each designed as an artist's studio: lime on the walls, custom-made furniture, nude sketches, old photos, and contemporary ceramics; the whole is calming, conducive to inspiration. With this checkerboard enameled terracotta, the bathrooms evoke the Belle Époque. You lie down on the bed to better contemplate – but in only half of the rooms – the frescoes swirling on the ceiling. They are the work of artist Franck Lebraly, the same one who decorated the studio. Intriguing this wall covered with a thousand nails: the works of young artists, which can be purchased, are regularly displayed there. Whether talented or not, you can even take a class with one of the professors from the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, the last of its kind in Paris. With a name like that, it's no surprise that photography is the focus of this boutique hotel Curio Collection by Hilton. Certainly a chain hotel, but one that has managed to break free from its codes. Duras, de Beauvoir, we journey through this Paris of writers, but especially of women, a theme this humanist cherished. The restaurant is only open at noon, offering a chance to taste the light, Franco-Japanese cuisine of Chef Kayori Hirano under the glass roof of the eponymous restaurant.
