It is in Burgundy, just 1 hour and 30 minutes from Paris, that you will discover La Côte Saint-Jacques, a timeless five-star hotel. Perhaps, like us, you will go there first for the cuisine of chef Jean-Michel Lorain, a double Michelin-starred chef, but you will fall in love with an establishment that focuses on well-being and total relaxation.

Upon your arrival at La Côte Saint-Jacques, you will likely be surprised (and somewhat amazed) by the tranquility of the place. Everything here has been designed for you to take care of yourself, whether you spend time admiring the nearby Yonne River or decide not to leave the 800 m² spa.2, absolute haven of serenity.

Allow yourself to be accompanied, pampered, and discover your room with undisguised pleasure. Our favorite? The suites with a river view. The unique decor in each room is above all warm, for a comforting, unostentatious luxury.

Step out onto your balcony or terrace: the vast river flows peacefully at your feet. A moment of gentle serenity that instantly invites inner peace.

Before enjoying the Michelin-starred cuisine at La Côte Saint-Jacques, you can't miss a stop at the spa: exceptional is the word; it will make you forget the rest of the world. The indoor pool, heated to 29°C (84°F), is vast and pleasant, with an adjoining relaxation room under a large, sun-drenched bay window.

The jacuzzi is divine, opening directly onto the Yonne, you could stay there for hours admiring the spectacle of the flowing river, inviting peace and so relaxing.

The spa also has a steam room, sauna, fitness room, and massage and beauty rooms.

Would you like more? Don't miss the VIP room, for a couples' treatment with a Japanese Ofuro bathtub.

But it's time to entrust your dinner to the expert hands of the brigade of double Michelin-starred chef Jean-Michel Lorain.

A passionate and captivating man, he welcomes you with generous cuisine combining the specialties that have made Côte Saint Jacques historically renowned (Bresse chicken steamed in Champagne, lightly smoked line-caught pollack with royal Oscietra caviar, special oysters in a small ocean terrine...) and more personal recipes that particularly highlight vegetables or the chef's taste for travel.

For more than 25 years, Jean-Michel Lorain has been enhancing the products he crafts with great love in his two-Michelin-starred restaurant.

A colorful and playful walk that you wish would never end.

In a nutshell

  • A green, calm, and peaceful setting, only 1 hour and 30 minutes from Paris.
  • A double Michelin-starred restaurant and a passionate chef.
  • An 800 sq m spawith a magnificent indoor pool heated to 29°C.

Gastronomic restaurant on the Côte Saint-Jacques

The gastronomic restaurant at Côte Saint-Jacques, a two-Michelin-star establishment, guarantees you a culinary journey featuring seasonal products and completely unexpected flavors. We're falling for Jean-Michel Lorain's Grand Menu without hesitation, complete with wine pairings.

And speaking of great discoveries at La Côte Saint-Jacques, the wine cellar is one of them. The team of sommeliers, led by Thomas Noble, will certainly recommend local wines, of course, but also more surprising vintages from among the 800 references available. The selection is refined and always extremely relevant.

Feel free to be guided to a selection of winemakers committed to more environmentally friendly production. Wonder is guaranteed.

With the kids

La Côte Saint-Jacques is among France's most family-friendly five-star hotels. Here, children are treated like royalty, and it shows. They have a dedicated game room – a fun paradise that we really enjoyed.

But that's not all; Jean-Michel Lorain also wants to introduce young children to gastronomy, with a children's menu specially designed to develop their young palates.

And if you wish to enjoy a treatment or the hammam, La Côte Saint-Jacques offers a babysitting service.

Inspiration

Shopping
No need to leave your hotel to bring back the perfect gift: the Dagmar is a small, soft chocolate caramel coated in a thin, crispy layer of caramel; totally addictive!

Out for a walk
No need to go far to offer you a a walk through the heart of history. The old town of Joigny is classified as a City of Art and History. Don't miss admiring the Maison de l'Arbre de Jessé and the Château des Gondi. Of course, your stroll will likely lead you to the banks of the Yonne, either on foot or by bike.

Zen
For her spa, Saint-Jacques Coast chose Paoma & Equatoria. We're tempted by a ritual, an excellent way to recharge: The Tropical Elixir (1.5 hours for 2 people), which combines a Donkey Milk Ofuro Bath with tea and pastry tasting, followed by a 4-hand massage.
