Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech

Nestled among olive trees, palm trees, and roses that exude a magical fragrance, the Mandarin Oriental is an icon on the Hotels in Marrakech. As soon as you enter, the massive door in natural tones sets the tone. The estate quickly reveals its majestic golden pool and an architectural style featuring columns, dark wood, and marble inspired by the Ben Youssef Madrasa. The 65 guest rooms are spread across the main building and the private riads with pools. The culinary offerings are equally impressive. There are four restaurants and bars: Ling Ling by Hakkasan, Shirvan, Jardin Potager, and Pool Garden, all of which delight guests who happily head to the bars for a nightcap under the sun. The Mandarin Oriental features one of Marrakech’s finest spas, which was named the World’s Best Spa in 2024. Spanning 1,800 m², a 70-square-meter pool, a Moroccan hammam, and treatment rooms blending Andalusian heritage with local traditions make this a temple of well-being, enhanced by the unique oriental scents of argan oil, orange blossom, mandarin, and rose water.

Selman Marrakech

Welcome to an Arab-Moorish palace. The Selman, designed by Jacques Garcia, is nestled at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It’s the perfect setting for the Arabian thoroughbreds that live comfortably at the estate’s stud farm. The property’s architectural style is distinctive and celebrates Moroccan tradition. The hotel overlooks a long swimming pool surrounded by tall palm trees. Embodying the splendor of the Orient, the 55 rooms and suites—along with five private villas—are adorned with zellige (Moroccan mosaic tiles), wood, carved stucco, and vaulted ceilings. Under the direction of Jean-François Piège, the five restaurants and bars offer the very best in high-end Moroccan cuisine, as well as dishes inspired by flavors from around the world. A wellness retreat by Chenot, a brand that operates only six spas worldwide, the 1,200-square-meter relaxation area features seven treatment rooms, four hydrotherapy rooms, a hydromassage pool, two heated outdoor pools, two hammams, a fitness center, and a beauty salon. Not to mention the 80-meter pool, a rarity in the “Red City.”.

The Two Towers

Located in Marrakech’s Palmeraie, Les Deux Tours was designed by architect Charles Boccara. Just a 15-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the Medina and Jemaa el Fna Square, this spa hotel in Marrakech features 41 rooms, characterized by vaults, arcades, and secret alcoves, spread throughout traditional riads. Five villas have their own swimming pools and private gardens. The spacious interiors were designed by Mathieu Boccara, the designer’s son, in an Orientalist style blended with 1950s elements and handcrafted objects. The property is surrounded by palm trees, ponds, and lush gardens, within which lies a large, delicately carved swimming pool. A true invitation to a gastronomic journey, this peaceful oasis features two restaurants: La Pergola (which lives up to its name) with its market-fresh cuisine, and Salammbô with its iconic Moroccan dishes. The Yoshi Bar is the perfect sushi bar for a taste of Japan. The spa’s hammam is incredibly authentic, offering top-tier service, and the massage rituals highlight all the benefits of Moroccan skincare products.

Naoura

We expected nothing less from the Barrière Group, which operates this 5-star hotel—one of the most beautiful Hotels in Marrakech. The Naoura is a true Moroccan gem. Designed by architect Daniel Hulak, in collaboration with interior designer Pascal Desprez, the hotel impresses with its style inspired by the nearby medina, featuring dark wood, ochre walls, and ivory and gold accents. The plants add a touch of green that blends perfectly with the natural colors of the surroundings. The 86 rooms, along with the riads and villas, are arranged around a central pool. Some feature a balcony with a view, while others have a shaded terrace. When it comes to dining, Moroccan cuisine is elevated by French culinary techniques. This is particularly evident at the Fouquet’s brasserie, which resembles its legendary predecessor, the’Champs Elysées Hotel, and its menu crafted jointly by chefs Hamza Afquir and Pierre Gagnaire, as well as Wardya, with its Mediterranean cuisine. A Kids Club allows parents to unwind while their children have fun. Finally, the 1,200-square-meter Diane Barrière spa offers traditional rituals, hammams, and a water therapy circuit. Some treatments are also specially designed for golfers, as Marrakech is home to several renowned golf courses.

How could we not mention this icon of Marrakech, one of the most beautiful spa hotels: La Mamounia. Completely renovated in 2009, this legendary hotel has been celebrating Art Deco, Orientalism, and pure Moroccan tradition for over 100 years. Chiseled stucco, zellige, marble, arabesques… All beautifully highlighted by impressive lighting effects. In this unique atmosphere, the Italian, Asian, and Moroccan restaurants are vibrant hubs in their own right, attracting Marrakech’s elite with their flawlessly executed dishes. Several accommodation options are available. There are 135 rooms, 71 suites, and three three-bedroom riads. The spa, regularly named one of the most beautiful in the world, is a true reflection of the five-star hotel’s prestige. 2,500 square meters of relaxation and escape in a setting straight out of *One Thousand and One Nights*, featuring an indoor pool surrounded by columns, traditional hammams, a jacuzzi, and time-honored treatments.
