Cour des Loges: The must-visit hotel in Old Lyon...

Nestled between the alleyways and standing on the cobblestones of Rue du Bœuf, the imposing building that honors over six hundred years of history is famous for its singular Florentine architecture in Lyon. Within the walls of this five-star hotel, like a journey back in time to the Renaissance, an inner courtyard and galleries with traboules (secret pedestrian passages known only to insiders or Lyonnais locals and inherent to the city's historical heritage). Everywhere, you'll feel like you're in quite a spectacular setting: under the 17-meter-high glass roof, on the terrace of the hanging gardens with a panoramic view, or even in the staging of artists' studios, imagined for certain suites...

Evidently luxurious, the living spaces are dressed in dense, noble materials without fuss. Signed art objects and more contemporary pieces coexist here in a resolutely baroque atmosphere, initially orchestrated by the Sibuet family, famous for their host of exceptional hotels in Megève.

At the Michelin-starred table led by Chef Anthony Bonnet, you'll take your seat by candlelight to savor refined cuisine, befitting the city's gastronomic reputation. Highlights include local products from the generous surrounding region, from meat from the preserved Mézenc plateau to market garden produce from the valley.

The Café-Épicerie bistro is also a friendly and convivial alternative in a twisted Lyonnaise tradition.

The relaxation advantage? The splendid Pure Altitude spa that honors Lugdunum in a Roman thermal atmosphere. A must-try for a journey of the senses and in time...

The Boscolo Collection hotel, Italian luxury...

A stone's throw from Place Bellecour, right in the heart of Lyon, you'll find 133 rooms and suites nestled within a stately 19th-century building. Their decor is minimalist and decidedly contemporary, with a few lavish touches of gold, marble, and Italian flair. The five-star hotel is also worth a visit for its 350-square-meter underground spa, designed like Roman thermal baths. Set beneath white vaulted ceilings and surrounded by exposed ashlar stonework, it offers a unique, troglodyte-like atmosphere.

We're sitting down at the restaurant Angelo (which lives up to its name!) to escape to the Italian peninsula with its generous menu, led by Pasquale Lanzilotti, featuring specialties made from fresh ingredients. A change of scenery is guaranteed!

Hôtel Villa Maïa, the exalted terms…

This five-star luxury hotel, located on the heights of Fourvière, belongs to the Maïa group and offers one of the most beautiful views of Lyon. The establishment, with its concrete and glass shell and contemporary design, is the result of the work of renowned figures such as decorator Jacques Grange, architect Jean-Michel Vilmotte, and landscape architect Louis Benech. Only 34 rooms open onto intimate spaces with natural colors and relaxing anamorphic works by Charles Maze.

Very close to the archaeological remains, the house's thermal baths pay homage to ancient Rome with their Pompeian ceiling and columns, spanning 400 square meters of great luminosity.

(Very) good to know: across from the establishment is the restaurant of the essential Lyon culinary mentor, Christian Têtedoie, who has two Michelin stars.

InterContinental Hotel-Dieu, Lyon's architectural colossus…

A new temple of gastronomy and a vibrant place to live, Le Grand-Hôtel Dieu is home to this truly monumental hotel within its extraordinary historic building! One of the splendors of the place? The Soufflot dome and its 32 meters of height, which make us feel tiny. Within these walls made of blond stone, 110 rooms and 34 suites have been decorated, like the entire venue, by the famous interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel to bring contemporary light and serenity: in short, understated luxury.

La Table d’Epona is led by Chef Mathieu Charrois, a protégé of renowned French gastronomy figures including Michel Troisgros, Yannick Alléno, and Lionel Lévy. There, he reinterprets classics of the iconic cuisine of the city of the Gauls.

The little extra? Many rooms offer a view of the Rhône River.

La Villa Florentine, the most beautiful view in Lyon...

In place of this 17th-century convent, this establishment, well-known to the people of Lyon, which belongs to the prestigious Relais & Châteaux group and has the air of a late 15th-century Tuscan home, certainly benefits from the most panoramic view of the city.
29 keys open onto personalized ambiances, where cozy furniture sits alongside dense, luxurious materials inspired by the city of Florence during the Renaissance.
If the weather permits, the added value of the house could well be the heated swimming pool and its hot tub, which give a sense of exotic holidays, yet are very close to the city center.

Les Terrasses de Lyon, under the panoramic glass roof, is led by David Delsart, a chef awarded one Michelin star, who refines and champions regional cuisine by enhancing fresh products and authentic local flavors, such as the Isère trout or the langoustine quenelle, one of his signature dishes.

The Hôtel de l'Abbaye, a haven of calm in Lyon...

Located in the Ainay district, in the heart of the peninsula, this four-star hotel, full of character and serene charm, was once the presbytery of the Abbey of Ainay. Today, the establishment, which cradles its 21 cozy, contemporary, and comfortable rooms (decorated by Maison Hand) like a jewel box, embodies the revival of a place that still emanates a peaceful spirituality.

L’Artichaut, a table that describes places, offers unpretentious cuisine made with fresh products from the local region. Chef Clément Lopez presents seasonal, gourmet menus and a market menu.

Hôtel Le Royal Lyon MGallery, legend of Bellecour...

On the most popular square in Lyon, this establishment, patronized by tourists from around the world, is nestled in a building dating back to 1888. Since 2013, Hôtel Le Royal has been part of the MGallery collection and owes its decor to Pierre-Yves Rochon, evoking the ambiance of a 19th-century home. Thus, curated pieces create a successful mix and match with more contemporary furniture. Noble and dense fabrics and materials, such as colorful Toile de Jouy, take pride of place.

The place's gastronomic distinction? The table is actually the training restaurant of the Institut Paul Bocuse, with its kitchens overseen by Chef Cyril Bosviel, where, of course, the pursuit of excellence is paramount.
