The March 2019 Box
The "Petit Bouchon Authentique" Box is available in a wide variety of options, whether you want to give it as a gift or enjoy it month after month. For example, you can subscribe to the Petit Bouchon box, as well as to the Grand Bouchon Box, with two bottles of wine for tasting each month.
For the month of March, the selection was once again particularly discerning, with Equinox, Le Mouton Noir Girond’1 and Bird. Two truly exciting wines. The booklet included in the set provided a recipe and plenty of tips, not only on choosing the right glasses but also on food and wine pairings.

Equinoxe, Le Mouton Noir Girond’1
The estate of Dominique Léandre-Chevalier is uniquely situated on the island of Patiras in the middle of the Gironde estuary.
90 % Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.
Its History : The estate has been in existence since 1895, and today, on 3 hectares of vineyards, Dominique Léandre-Chevalier works primarily using traditional methods, relying heavily on horses. The vines are between 15 and 35 years old.
Its Culture : This wine is produced using biodynamic and organic on clay-limestone soils. It is worth noting that the vines are planted at a high density, with 3,500 vines per hectare.
The winemaking process : The grapes are harvested by hand and completely destemmed.
With : plant-based flavors and produce from the land.
The Tasting : This wine should be chilled before serving, but does not need to be decanted. Enjoy now through 2024.
Notes from : red and black berries, with a hint of iodine.
Bird 2013
Yes, in this box, the two wines offered by Petit Bouchon Authentique were biological ! Oiseau is a wine we really enjoyed, from a winery in the Aude department, in the Corbières region.
50 % Carignan, 30 % Grenache, 20 % Syrah.
Its History : Didier Ferrier and Jennifer Buck settled on their hill in 2007. A small family-run operation, the Colline de l’hirondelle estate represents a lifetime’s work, with committed winemakers who respect life and nature.
Its Culture : Oiseau (with its beautiful label) is a biodynamic and organic wine.
The winemaking process : After being hand-harvested, the Carignan, Syrah, and Grenache grapes are vinified separately. Fermentation lasts 20 to 25 days, with regular pumping over. Oiseau is aged in tanks for 16 months and then in bottles for 24 months.
With : We prefer it with cheese or—why not?—cashew cheese.
The Tasting : Oiseau is a surprising wine, with a truly incredible nose that combines smoky and mineral notes. It also has a beautiful garnet color, verging on ruby.
Notes from : dark fruits, black pepper, toasted cinnamon.
