Pangkor Laut Resort

Malaysia

Pangkor Laut Resort, Malaysia
July 8, 2017 Pauline

The magnificent hotel Pangkor Laut Resort is located on a private island off the west coast of Malaysia, which is home only to the hotel, so you’ll be far from the other resorts in the area. Most of the island remains untouched, and the hotel’s wooden buildings blend seamlessly into the surrounding natural landscape.

Experience privacy at the Pangkor Laut Resort; the villas are all designed so you can fully enjoy the surrounding nature and true comfort. You can choose from villas located near the spa, overwater villas right on the water’s edge, beachfront villas, villas nestled in the heart of lush, beautiful gardens, or those perched high up with magnificent views. The Suria, Purnama, and Pavarotti suites (named after the tenor who fell in love with the island) round out the offerings at Pangkor Laut Resort.

When it comes to meals, the Pangkor Laut Resort has thought of everything. There are several different restaurants to choose from, so you’ll always have options. The Fisherman’s Cove is the hotel's fine-dining restaurant, while Uncle Lim's Kitchen serves Asian dishes. For lunch, the Royal Bay Beach Club serves Asian and European dishes. The Chapman’s Bar as well as the Jamu Bar They, too, let you enjoy a light meal and relax by the sea.

If you decide to leave the island for an excursion, the Pangkor Laut Resort has everything you could want: yachts are available for day trips, and sunset cruises are also organized. The watchword at Pangkor Laut Resort is, of course, «relaxation»! In addition to a stunning beach, the resort features two swimming pools, a gym, three tennis courts, and a squash court. The library offers a peaceful space for reading or playing board games, and the hotel also has a lounge where you can watch TV… although, clearly, the resort is still best suited for relaxing outdoors. As for the spa, you can choose from a wide range of treatments inspired by countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, China, and India. A must-visit during your stay, the spa is a haven of peace.

In a nutshell

  • Pangkor Laut Resort is located on a private island.
  • We love villas on stilts right on the water.
  • Be sure to take a sunset cruise.

Eating

You're on a private island, so it will be harder for you to go out to dinner on the mainland. Enjoy the Fisherman’s Cove in the evening. The setting is pleasant, and the cuisine offers both classic Western flavors and a selection of fish and seafood dishes. The ocean view is breathtaking. Please note that, as the atmosphere is rather sophisticated, children under 16 are not permitted in this restaurant.

With the kids

Depending on your children's ages, you can enjoy a variety of activities, such as boat rides, jungle hikes, and kayaking, for example.
