Cuq-en-Terrasses’ success is based above all on the warm welcome, professionalism, and kindness of Philippe and Andonis, the hosts. While Philippe takes care of you during your stay, Andonis works in the garden and the kitchen to delight his guests’ taste buds night after night.

As for the location, it’s one of a kind. The Maison Hôtel Cuq-en-Terrasses is an 18th-century building featuring stunning gardens that grow more beautiful with each passing year. A small separate building, located near the pool, houses a duplex suite called La Tour, which features a bedroom with a terrace, two bathrooms, a sitting area, and a terrace near the pool. It’s ideal for anyone seeking privacy. In total, Cuq-en-Terrasses has six guest rooms and two suites.

Among the highlights of Cuq-en-Terrasses, we especially enjoy afternoons lounging on the poolside deck chairs, the vast grounds featuring a vegetable garden and fruit trees, and, above all, the friendly atmosphere during dinner.

Whether on the terrace or in the veranda, you can admire a countryside landscape stretching to the horizon as the sun sets. Every evening the menu is different, and every evening, everyone appreciates the many little touches. As the evening draws to a close, you’ll want to wait until Andonis sits down at the electric piano and begins to sing one of the many songs in his repertoire so you can join in and enjoy a truly convivial moment.

In a nutshell

  • A family-friendly atmosphere in a picturesque setting.
  • Andonis and Philippe will make you feel right at home.
  • A friendly and relaxing atmosphere is on the agenda.

Dining:

There’s no need to look any further when you have the perfect table d’hôte right at your disposal every evening. Just let us know that you’ll be dining at the hotel, and at 8:00 p.m., you’ll be welcomed into the restaurant. If the weather is nice, you’ll dine on the terrace; if it’s gloomy, you’ll be seated on the veranda.

With the kids

Cuq-en-Terrasses has several rooms where you can sleep with your children. Les Gardes, a small cottage on the village square, has a living room that can be converted into a sleeping area for your child.

The pool is perfect for everyone to enjoy together, and you'll love exploring the fruit trees and animals on the estate.

Inspiration

Shopping
Wine, of course! You're very close to Gaillac, so you'll have plenty of wineries to visit.

Out for a walk
You absolutely must visit Albi, which is a splendid city, as well as hilltop villages such as Cordes-sur-Ciel.

Zen
Simply relax by the pool or in the garden. If you'd like a Thai, Californian, Swedish, or Korean massage, you can enjoy it in your room or in the garden.

In the suitcase
Your swimsuit for the summer so you can enjoy the pool. Something to read, sneakers for walks—since there are a lot of hills; an umbrella in the winter, since it’s not very cold, but it can rain quite often.

Recommended Reading
A novel related to Cathar culture, such as Bernard Mahoux's series: The Curse of the Trencavels.
