At the foot of the Château de Grignan and surrounded by lavender fields, the story of the Marquise de Sévigné continues to inspire the art of living in Drôme Provençale At Clair de la Plume, one of the region's most beautiful luxury boutique hotels…

Grignan, a village straight out of a bucolic postcard…
While the picturesque village of Grignan—known throughout the world for its rich history of chivalry and, later, the correspondence surrounding the Marquise de Sévigné—has inspired many artists, the good life remains at the heart of this little corner of France, a land of lavender and black truffles (you can even go digging for truffles (5 minutes from Clair de la Plume).
Founded in the 11th century on a promontory overlooking the horizon, the Château de Grignan evolved into the opulent residence of the Adhémar family in the 17th century and continues to tell stories of life at the court of the Sun King. Today, this historic monument, with its terraces offering panoramic views, hosts numerous cultural events throughout the year in this hamlet of old stone buildings that is anything but sleepy!

Le Clair de la Plume, a must-visit boutique hotel in Drôme Provençale!
Le Clair de la Plume stands out as one of the most remarkable Hotels in the Drôme, whose reputation as a tourist and culinary destination has been well-established since the main building opened in 1999. Over time, the property has expanded throughout the village and now includes, in addition to the original building: a private home, a lovers’ cottage, a botanical garden with a pool and an organic restaurant, and a second hotel in the form of a family home —La Ferme Chapouton—a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant, and a trendy vintage café—the Café des Vignerons.
When it comes to ambiance and decor at the three properties bearing the “Le Clair de la Plume” name, a classic and romantic style permeates the cozy rooms, suites, and living spaces, where antique furniture blends with the ochre-colored terracotta tiles so characteristic of the region, as well as Provençal boutis, creating a vintage, historic, and refined atmosphere

Dining at Clair de la Plume…
In the spotlight, the hotel’s Michelin-starred fine-dining restaurant and the Chapouton bistro are unveiling—following the departure of Chef Julien Allano—a new menu co-created by Glenn Viel, a three-Michelin-starred chef and star judge on the TV show *Top Chef*. At the helm of the kitchen is Benjamin Reilhes, the new executive chef—who has previously worked with the Ibarboure brothers, Arnaud Donckele, and Franck Pelux, among others—who is teaming up with pastry chef Cédric Perret, winner of the Michelin Passion Dessert award.
On the menu: sustainable cuisine that harmonizes perfectly with the decor. As the seasons change, the 100% menu—featuring truffles, olives, almonds, fruits and vegetables from the Rhône Valley, and locally sourced meats—takes center stage on the plates…
