JR : For you, traveling is synonymous with...?
Adventure, the unknown, discovery. A new beginning and excitement even before the journey!
JR : What is the first item you put in your suitcase? Why?
A nice notebook and pens to jot down my impressions or good addresses I discover.

JR : When you travel in dreams, where do you go?
In Indonesia... It's a country I really want to discover, for its landscapes, but also its people... I hope this dream comes true one day!
JR : Your worst travel memory?
A few years ago, I was heading to the island of Saint Martin in the Antilles. There was a major strike at the Paris airports, and no flights were leaving Charles de Gaulle. We had to travel by bus to Brussels, where we waited for 24 hours for a plane to take off for our destination! Consequently, our short, one-week trip was very brief...

JR : A perfume that invites you to escape?
Orange trees in blossom in early spring, whether in Morocco or Andalusia.
JR : What is your next destination?
I still have unfinished projects for June, but in July I will go to southern Germany and Montreal, then to Catalonia in August.
JR : What is your favorite hotel? For what reasons?
Difficult question! I slept in wooden bungalows on the island of Dominica with a hammock set up in front. Surrounded by vegetation, I felt like an explorer, even though there was every comfort. The environment was very different from what you find in a «standard» hotel, and that's what I liked! These Cocoa Cottages left me with very fond memories of the Caribbean.

JR : What do you do to pass the time on a plane?
Watching a movie, typing my next article on the iPad, watching the clouds through the porthole… I rarely sleep on planes.
JR : What is your best travel memory from when you were a child?
A road trip with my parents to see the Loire Valley castles. It was a dazzling architectural and historical discovery. I only returned very recently!
JR : You feel at home when you are...?
Back in the «Capital of the Gauls,» with my family or friends, enjoying our local specialties, sharing stories of travels... Or not, for that matter!
