Set between the banks of the Seine and the Parisian art of living, the capital’s 4-star hotels blend understated luxury with an intimate atmosphere. From charming boutique hotels to design-forward properties and refined guesthouses, each offers a unique way to experience the city. Here’s an overview of the most beautiful ones 4-star hotels in Paris, where you feel just as comfortable as if you were traveling as you would visiting friends.
Normandy Hotel Paris
The neighborhood is best explored on foot, and that’s the whole point. From this hotel in central Paris, the Louvre, the Tuileries Garden, the Palais-Royal, the Opéra Garnier, and Les Halles are all within walking distance—no metro required. Rue Saint-Honoré and its shop windows begin right around the corner, and the Palais-Royal Musée du Louvre metro station is just four minutes away. Few 4-star hotels boast such a short address in the 1st arrondissement.
The hotel, which opened in 1877 and is part of the Machefert Collection, will continue its renovation work through 2027 and will remain open to guests throughout the construction period. The 105 rooms and suites are being completely renovated, ranging from 16 m² for the Cosy rooms to 40 m² for the Suite, featuring walk-in showers and bamboo-fiber bath linens. The announced plans include a ground floor designed by Jacques Garcia and an 18-meter swimming pool.
Meanwhile, life goes on downstairs. Buckwheat serves its pancakes around a large communal table, made with organic buckwheat flour from Moulins Roupsard, accompanied by Normandy ciders and a flower-filled terrace on sunny days. A mirrored door opens onto a metal spiral staircase leading down to Rehab, a basement speakeasy where the cocktails—collectively known as “Remedy”—read like a doctor’s prescription. The taquería El Vecino and the wine bar 75 CL, on Rue d’Argenteuil, round out the quartet. Walking to the Louvre and ending the evening beneath its very foundations: that’s one way to spend the night right in the heart of Paris.

La Bourdonnais
At the end of the avenue that bears its name stands the Eiffel Tower; behind the door lies a journey around the world. This 4-star boutique hotel in the 7th arrondissement, just a few steps from the Champ-de-Mars, reopened on April 11, 2026, following a complete renovation led by Oscar Lucien Ono of the firm Maison Numéro 20. The architect infused each floor with the spirit of an 18th-century explorer, Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais, a naval officer, blending dark materials with nods to faraway places.
The 53 rooms and suites feature three color schemes: a floral blue inspired by the East, a beige and straw-colored palette with animal motifs, and a terracotta hue reminiscent of distant landscapes. Room sizes range from the 12 m² Single to the 33 m² Junior Suite, and several room categories (Executive and Classic Eiffel Tower) offer views of the Iron Lady from the window. The hotel, part of the Inwood Hotels collection, is certified with the European Ecolabel.
In the evening, the journey shifts gears to *Midnight Express*, a cocktail bar designed to resemble a stationary train hurtling across three continents: the Old World, the Far East, and the Americas. You move from the bar car to the alcoves, reserve a private compartment, and pair each drink with a food pairing tailored to the stop. Behind the bar, bartender Mahdi Provost reimagines the classics as tales of journeys. A trip around the world completed without ever leaving the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

The Prince of Conti
Walk through the door, and the neighborhood takes care of the rest. The Hôtel de la Monnaie stands on the corner; the banks of the Seine begin at the end of the street; and you can reach Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés without rushing. The Louvre is a 9-minute walk away, and Notre-Dame, the Conciergerie, and the Musée d’Orsay are not much farther. Le Prince de Conti opened in December 2025 as the fourth property of the family-owned Paristory group and the first that the Marang sisters have established on the Left Bank. The location is steeped in history: the Hôtel de Conti once stood here, the residence of a princely lineage that served as Molière’s patron.
The interior is the work of Éric Allart, an interior designer and antique dealer, who played with the 17th-century style rather than recreating it. Fabrics by Pierre Frey flow from one floor to the next, connecting the 23 rooms and suites—divided into seven categories—ranging from 14 m² for a single superior room to 31 m² for the largest. Open the curtains in a deluxe room and you’ll look out onto the courtyard, from which you can catch a glimpse of the Monnaie de Paris and the Académie Française. In the 25-square-meter duplex suite, you leave the living room and its chaise longue on the first level to go upstairs to sleep, behind a large floor-to-ceiling window.
There’s no restaurant, but the hosts know how to make guests feel welcome. Breakfast is served in the winter garden, halfway between France and America, with pastries and fresh-squeezed juices on one side and eggs and cold cuts on the other—and you can also have it brought up to your room. The rest of the day, the living room doubles as a bar: everyone helps themselves, writes down what they’ve had, and no one checks up on you. Behind it, the courtyard landscaped by Caroline Vandervort recreates a French-style grove with low-water-use plants. With a drink in hand in this courtyard, with the riverbanks as neighbors, you quickly understand why the sisters were so attached to this place.

Plaza Tour Eiffel
The 16th arrondissement isn’t the first place that comes to mind when looking for a place to stay, and that’s exactly what makes it so relaxing. Located on a quiet residential street just off the Trocadéro, the Plaza Tour Eiffel has been family-owned since 2005, when Alexandra and Julie Marang took over from their father. From this location, you can easily reach the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the banks of the Seine, and the Opéra Garnier. A 4-star boutique hotel with 41 rooms and junior suites, the property is part of the Paristory Hotels Collection.
In three room categories located on the fifth and sixth floors, all you have to do is open the French door to see the tip of the Eiffel Tower rising above the rooftops. Inside, golden yellow and sky blue complement each other around the wooden headboards. There are seven room types, ranging from the 16 m² Superior room to the 40 m² Deluxe Family room, which features two bedrooms and two bathrooms behind a private entryway. In between, there are 20-square-meter Deluxe rooms accessible to guests with limited mobility, 24-square-meter Executive rooms for three, and 30-square-meter Junior Suites where the living room sofa converts into a bed. A crib is available upon request in every room category, and Grown Alchemist products are provided in the bathroom.
The wood-paneled gym is open around the clock, featuring treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical trainers, weight training stations, and yoga equipment, and you can request a trainer whenever you feel like it. The lounge bar operates on the same schedule; the morning buffet features organic options and can be delivered to your room, and a business center provides a computer and printer for those busy days. Just a few blocks away, the Villa Thalgo & Spa opens its marine hammam and aqua training pool to hotel guests, who enjoy exclusive offers there. The hotel has held the Clef Verte certification since 2022. Seeing the Eiffel Tower from your balcony in the morning, returning in the evening to a quiet street where nothing is happening—the 16th arrondissement has its charms.
