1. Le Nessay Hotel

Situated on the Nessay Peninsula in Saint Briac, this majestic 19th-century red-brick building overlooks Grande Salinette Beach, dotted with beach huts that have a slightly retro look—we love it!

Dominique Bergerault, an architect, and Stéphanie Cayet, an interior designer—who were responsible for the successful transformation of this former family home into a charming hotel—have successfully preserved its warm and elegant atmosphere. The hotel, located near Dinard, now offers 17 rooms and suites spread across three locations. The château features 9 rooms and 2 suites with ocean views; the two gatehouses at the park’s entrance house 4 spacious rooms; and finally, right on the beach, there are two rooms. The decor is just like a real, no-frills vacation home: photos, boots, and hats in the entryway… In the bathrooms, the amenities are by Diptyque—well done! We have to admit we have a soft spot for the Nessay suite.

With a floor area of 55 m² perched on the top floor, its 40 m² terrace promises a spectacular view of the Emerald Coast; guests sleep in the turret, which features a round bed. When it comes to dining, guests can enjoy a menu created by Chef Thomas Estrader. What’s on the menu? Of course, local and seasonal ingredients, plenty of fish and seafood, and meats prepared on the rotisserie, as well as a good selection of vegetarian options and a superb dessert buffet. Not to mention the famous Sunday brunch. Finally, a Phytomer-branded spa rounds out the offerings at the Nessay.

Finally, please note that this hotel in Dinard One of our favorites, the Maison du Nessay, opened in April 2021, two kilometers from downtown and the beaches: a 5-bedroom vacation rental with a 17-meter-long heated pool that reads …31 degrees on the thermometer.

Any advice? In the evening, head to the bar or its patio: thanks to its west-facing location, you can enjoy a stunning sunset with a drink in hand…

2. Barrière Le Grand Hôtel Dinard

The city's first hotel, opened in 1858, the Large Hotel has seen the world's elite come and go through its salons ever since that time! Taken over by the Barrière Group About twenty years ago, this legendary establishment, one of the The Most Beautiful 5-Star Hotels in Dinard, has been redecorated by Alexandre Danan. There are plenty of shades of green, blue, and beige throughout the 86 rooms and common areas.

The George V restaurant, with its large floor-to-ceiling windows, offers an incredible view of the bay and the ramparts of Saint-Malo, especially at sunset when the sun’s rays reflect off the city. Chef Wilfried Lacaille’s menu highlights local ingredients, seafood, and fish cooked to perfection.

Finally, we love the new 300 m² Diane Barrière spa, where guests can indulge in treatments featuring Biologique Recherche and Ligne St Barth products, enjoy the 28°C pool, and relax on the large sun terrace.

Any advice? Sip Kirk Douglas’s favorite cocktail at 333 Café or on its terrace; he stayed at the Grand Hôtel for a month in 1957. Named “333” (hence the bar’s name), it’s made with a mix of gin, Cointreau, and orange juice.

3. Royal Emeraude Hotel

Behind the brick facade, typical of the beautiful villas from Dinard’s golden age, one discovers a 4-star hotel part of the MGallery by Sofitel collection. Located just a stone’s throw from Écluse Beach, this hotel in Dinard features 47 rooms whose decor is beautifully inspired by the world of travel… during the Belle Époque.

We’re torn between the ocean liner style of the first floor, the Orient Express ambiance on the second, and the aviation theme on the third—a nod to Roland Garros’s exploits on Écluse Beach.  As for the Darling—whose name proudly proclaims its British atmosphere and is housed under an imposing 19th-century glass roof—it’s «the place to be» for breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening drinks accompanied by piano music. For relaxation, the hotel features a small wellness area with a fitness room, a hammam, and a Hydrojet massage table—ideal for unwinding.

Any advice? In the evening, take a stroll along the Promenade du Clair de Lune, past the colorful and fragrant gardens filled with Mediterranean vegetation, with the sea as a backdrop.

4. Hotel la Vallée

Located at the tip of Pointe du Moulinet, on the famous Clair de Lune promenade, just a stone's throw from Écluse Beach and 5 minutes from the resort center, this hotel in Dinard boasts a dream location… Built in 1882 at the foot of the pier at Anse du Bec de La Vallée, this 3-star hotel can rightly boast of being a historic establishment! 17 of its 22 rooms offer a view of the sea.

Now a member of the Ar Collection (Ar means «near» in Breton), a group of five charming, characterful establishments in Brittany founded by the chef Christian Le Squer and the sommelier Éric Beaumard, the restaurant As you might expect, it’s well worth a visit! On the menu, one guiding principle: seasonal cuisine, fresh and local ingredients, and flavors from the sea and the region.

Any advice? Head to the new terrace overlooking the sea to enjoy some fresh seafood, and after savoring the sea bream ceviche with yuzu juice created by three-Michelin-starred chef Christian Le Squer, don’t hesitate to ask for the recipe!
