I would like to talk to you about jet lag. I recently traveled across the’Atlantic so as to return and settle back in my native Quebec. After more than 8 months spent in France, my body had to readjust to’Eastern Standard Time. The only problem? I'm terrible when it comes to editing my internal clock... So I looked into it, and here are the 5 tips that have helped me greatly over the past few days.

Combat jet lag
Vitamins B and D
The vitamins B-12 is a natural way to maintain your vitality and energy levels. The Vitamin D (also called the sunshine vitamin), whether natural or taken as a supplement, is linked to melatonin levels in our blood. It thus helps us fall asleep in addition to keeping us in a good mood. A rather interesting 2-for-1, under the circumstances!
Caffeine and alcohol = no!
I won't surprise you by reminding you that even though the desire for a coffee to start the day at an unusual hour makes your mouth water (See photo below...) I best thing what you can do is to resist Not only do these two liquids act as stimulants, but they also dehydrate you, and that makes your jet lag encore pear !

Hydrate!
It cannot be said enough... flights can be longs (or stressful if, like me, you're a bit afraid of flying) and exhausting. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your trip! A simple tip, but oh so effective!
A yoga session? Why not!
Yes! It's been said that traveling can be stressful and the Stress can make the effects of jet lag even more intense. A single yoga session can help you relax and recharge your batteries. From your hotel room or your living room, go ahead, get moving!

Turn towards the light!
Probably THE way To effectively combat fatigue, expose yourself to light natural of the day gives not only Vitamin D to your body, but it will greatly help your internal clock adjust. So what do we do? We face East in the morning and then West in the afternoon. You'll see, simple, but powerful !
