This Quebecer, a \u00abborn nomad\u00bb as she likes to describe herself, decided to change her life in 2013 to dedicate her daily life to what truly makes her happy: traveling and discovering the world! After traveling through Asia, the globe-trotter explored South America, where, once again, she never stops meeting wonderful people. Lydiane tells us how the planet became her playground.<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: For you, traveling is synonymous with...?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Open-mindedness, because it's about seeing differences, understanding them, accepting them, and respecting them. When you're a traveler, the moment you judge, you lose all the beauty of the journey. Traveling is precisely about accepting differences.<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: The first thing I pack in my suitcase is usually my toiletries bag. It contains all my essentials like toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and conditioner. I like to pack it first so I don't forget anything important, and it also helps to keep them organized and protected during transit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My trekking boots! I'm very athletic and for me, they're synonymous with freedom, adventures, the great outdoors, and nature.<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: When you dream travel, where do you go?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the mountains! They're fascinating, it's a place where you can see nature as far as the eye can see and where I feel good.<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: What's your worst travel memory?<\/strong><\/p>\n

All the moments when I believed in human contact based on honesty with this desire to know the other person, and in the end, the person took me for a bank and only wanted my money. For me, it was like a knife in the heart because I believe in humanity and in the goodness of people.<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: A perfume that invites you to escape?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fresh mountain air! It's neither winter nor summer, and it gives off a fresh, pure scent of nature, without any smell of gas.<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: What is your next destination?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No idea... I never plan ahead, I always leave at the last minute!<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: What is your favorite hotel? For what reasons?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I mostly stay with locals, in youth hostels, and sometimes I go camping. Very recently, I was staying with a Palestinian family, and they welcomed me as if I were their daughter. They were incredible towards me; they were like a second family!<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: What do you do to pass the time on a plane?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really love flying! I take the opportunity to think about what I'm going to do, to read a book because I don't always have time to do it. I watch movies or documentaries that interest me, I write, I sleep... I really make the most of it!<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: What's your best travel memory from when you were a child?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Different campsites every weekend with my parents.<\/p>\n

JR<\/span><\/em>\u00a0: You feel at home when you are\u2026 ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though I feel good everywhere and can make a home for myself almost anywhere, it will never be as much as Montreal. My roots are in Montreal! Since my travels, I realize that my friends and family are here, and that's the most precious thing in the world.<\/p>\n
